A heavy vehicle carrying straw caught fire, on this wednesday night, on the national road 260, that connects Beja to Serpa. the way is cut.
The incident took place on that road near the town of Nossa Senhora das Neves, near Beja, and the car, who transported straw, left some cargo scattered on the road and was engulfed in flames.
The firefighters of the Beja corporations, Serpa and Ferreira do Alentejo and GNR are on site with 34 operational and nine vehicles.
The road is still closed to car traffic in both directions..
