An outbreak of covid-19 was detected in a nursing home in Santa Luzia, municipality of Ourique. There are eight positive cases.
The home belongs to Santa Casa da Miseric贸rdia de Ourique (SCMO) and there are eight infected, one user and seven employees.
The outbreak was detected following an episode of hospitalization of a home user at Hospital Jos茅 Joaquim Fernandes, in Beja, no Sunday, where a quick test was done that was positive.
Positive case known, SCMO management, the Municipality the Social Security and Health Authority, started to follow the situation closely and during the day of yesterday tests were made to forty-four people, about two dozen users and employees.
On Tuesday afternoon seven more positive cases were known, all in institution employees, which in addition to the home also has a Day Care and Home Support Center.
We still need to know the totality of the tests to know the true extent of the outbreak and the measures to be taken., regarding home users.
Ourique Municipality source justified that 鈥渋t is necessary to mobilize responses to face this challenge. It is important that everyone has a civic and community participation, for the benefit of all 鈥, concluded.
