More than 30 Defendants, some from the Beja area, after searches for suspected embezzlement of millions of European funds.
Showroom Operation, of the Judiciary Police and the Public Ministry, happened in the areas of Aveiro, Beja, Braga, withe Castle, Coimbra, Évora, Lighthouse, Watch, Lisbon, Port, Portalegre, Santarem and Setubal.
The Judiciary Police and the Public Ministry made, Tuesday, dozens of searches across the country as part of an operation to combat fraud in which millions of euros of European funds were allegedly embezzled.
Several businessmen and companies are suspected of having applied for subsidies from the European Union by diverting, after, the money for your own benefit.
The so-called Operation Showroom gave rise to 54 search warrants in law firms and houses in the Aveiro area, Beja, Braga, withe Castle, Coimbra, Évora, Lighthouse, Watch, Lisbon, Port, Portalegre, Santarem and Setubal. At stake will be crimes of fraud in obtaining subsidy and qualified tax fraud.
“Following the steps, Vast documentation and other evidence was seized, with a view to its analysis, as well as were constituted 37 Defendants, 21 natural persons and 16 legal persons”, can be read in the statement from the Judiciary Police.
