Verdes: Party promotes Online Ecologist Conversation.

The Ecologist Party The Greens has held a set of ecological talks, face-to-face and online, on the most varied topics, this time on the topic “invasive species – how to intervene, safeguarding ecosystems?”.

These conversations are an open space for discussion, where we try to have guests who work on the themes addressed.

Tuesday, day 14 June, to 21 hours, the Ecologist Party The Greens, promotes an ecological conversation (online) about “invasive species – how to intervene, safeguarding ecosystems?”

This conversation intends to address the problem of invasive alien species (flora), bearing in mind that they are one of the greatest threats to biodiversity and the balance of ecosystems, focusing on the impact of invaders on biodiversity versus the impact of the means used to control and eradicate them in ecosystems. It is also intended to outline strategies for local intervention programs.

This conversation will feature two guest speakers – Elizabeth Marchante and Helia Marchante, PhDs in Biology, specializing in ecology, University professors and researchers at the Center for Functional Ecology at the University of Coimbra, with extensive research work in the area of invasive plants. Two of those responsible for the platform INVASORAS.PT, which includes Citizen Science Applications for mapping invasive plants
