The former president of the Chamber did not appeal against the prison sentence. Decision became final. Case had to do with illegal receipt of transport subsidy.
Former President of the Municipality of Vidigueira, convicted of committing a crime of embezzlement, sentenced to five years' imprisonment and a fine of 1.200 euros, did not appeal to the Court of Appeal of Évora (THREE), of the decision of the Panel of Judges of the Court of Beja.
The sentence became final on the last day 22 March. Elected councilor in the last local elections, Manuel Narra has already suspended his mandate.
Suspension of imprisonment for the same period, was conditioned to the fact that the former president made the monthly payment of 708,48 euros to the Municipality of Vidigueira, on account of the civil request made by the institution until the total amount received is satisfied.
At issue was the interpretation of the Panel of Judges, that the mayor improperly received, between 2013 and 2017, the mayor, the mayor, the money from 42.508,80 euros.
The deadline for filing an appeal against the court decision to the TRE ended on the last day 22 of March and Manuel Narra decided not to appeal the decision of the Coletivo that condemned him, having become final.

In a statement issued on the last day 30 March, the “+Citizens†Movement realized that Susana Damas was sworn in as councilor of the Vidigueira City Council, no referendum at some point the reasons for this change, nor of the reasons evoked by Manuel Narra.
After knowing the decision of the Panel of Judges of the sentence to five years in prison, when asked by Lidador NotÃcias (LN) on whether he would abdicate his mandate as councilor in the Chamber of Vidigueira, Manuel Narra justified that although this was not questioned by the court, assured that he would meet with the partisan force “and decide whether I will remain in office or present the resignation requestâ€, concluded.
