The Municipality of Vidigueira will reinforce its support to citizens and will apply, a partir de 1 January 2023, the Social Water Tariff.
This support is extended to all eligible consumers under the legally defined terms, in order to guarantee the right of the most vulnerable and low-income people to access essential goods and services.
The identification of beneficiaries of this tariff is done automatically, according to information provided by the General Directorate of Local Authorities, after consultation with Social Security and the Tax and Customs Authority.
It is not, that is why, any request from the resident is necessary or present documents proving the financial situation, since the attribution is automatic and resulting from tax and social security information, sent to the municipality by these entities.
The Social Water Tariff also covers IPSS, non-profit non-governmental organizations or other entities of recognized public utility in the municipality of Vidigueira, whose social action justifies it and which are legally constituted.
