Following an application made by the Municipality of Vidigueira, the Municipal Museum integrates from yesterday, 6 April, the Portuguese Network of Museums.
According to Order no. 3533/2021 from the Minister of Culture, which underlines the fundamental role of this type of equipment in promoting access to culture and enrichment of Portuguese cultural heritage.
Tutored by the Municipality of Vidigueira, the museum is located in the former primary school building and is organized into two major thematic centers. The first section depicts the history of primary education in the county, since the opening of the building in 1884, to 1991, year in which its use for this purpose ended.
not second core, visitors are offered a view of the economic picture of the decades of 30 et seq, through the offices of the inhabitants of the county, from agriculture to industry.
This space contributes to cultural understanding, historical, region's social and economic, providing the visitor with a unique experience of contact with themes that represent the ethnographic memory of the population.
