Vidigueira: Production of Talha Wine in the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage.


Vidigueira City Council welcomes the approval of registration in the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage (INPCI) Talha Wine Production, by the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage(DGPC).

The was published in order of 28 November 2023, signed by the deputy director general of Cultural Heritage Rita Jerónimo, and which will soon be published in Diário da República.

With this inscription, the DGPC recognizes the importance of Talha Wine Production as a reflection of the identity of the surrounding community and its historical depth and evident relationship with other practices inherent to the community.

The request to register the demonstration with INPCI was proposed by the Vidigueira City Council, who began research work to deepen knowledge about Talha Wine Production, with the aim of inventorying on the MatrizPCI platform (http://www.matrizpci.dgpc.pt/), where the public can access all documentation.

This is a fundamental step in the strategy developed by the municipality to recognize this identity practice for the purpose of its candidacy for Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, UNESCO.
