Around the Alentejo / Liberty Seguros: Joaquim Gomes presents the race
Of 25 a 29 March, the 33rd Around the Alentejo Liberty Seguros will color the roads and the heart of the Alentejo, a jointly organized by the Inter-CIMAC Community of Central Alentejo and the Podium.
The presentation of "Alentejo" will take place the next day 19 March, Thursday, by 11:30 am in the Auditorium of the Municipal Library of Reguengos de Monsaraz.
Joaquim Gomes, technical race director, is satisfied by, once again, levar a caravana a grande parte da região “Conseguimos, fruto da forte identidade regional, criar uma mancha competitiva do alto ou baixo Alentejo. Toda a região está incluída no percurso.” Para o responsável pela organização, as planícies alentejanas não são impeditivo para “agitar” o pelotão. “O Alentejo tem características muito particulares. Nesta prova não conseguimos ter a Alta Montanha, característica de uma Volta a Portugal, mas não deixa de ser uma prova, em termos competitivos, muito mexida. Quando se pensa que a Volta ao Alentejo está destinada a sprinters há sempre surpresas, nomeadamente nas fugas.”
