The 5th edition of Octopus Festival is scheduled for the days 22, 23 and 24 of September, in Zambujeira do Mar, no litoral odemirense.
The best dishes and snacks to octopus base may be proven in the various Town restaurants, always with the slogan "Taste here the best octopus in the world". In addition to the culinary component, the festival also offers lots of music and animation. Entries are free.
The event will be organized by the Recreational Cultural Association and Sports Zambujeirense, in partnership with the Municipality of Odemira, also with the support of the EPO - School Centre and Business of Southwest Alentejo, Fishing Dock - Ports and Auctions, S.A. and S.Teotónio Parish Council.
The Octopus Festival aims to promote the gastronomic potential of octopus and boost the local economy. This event will appeal to other initiatives promoted or supported by the municipality of Odemira, in order to value the best products of the territory.
The program includes daily showcookings, always to 17.00 hours, where you can learn and prove innovative recipes with the octopus as the main ingredient. The musical entertainment will be another constant, with several shows at Largo Mira Mar.
