Ourique: One dead and three seriously injured in an accident that cut IC1.
One man died and three people were injured seriously, including a child, a head-on collision between a passenger car and other goods, no IC1, in Ourique.
The fatality, a man of 38 year old, It was the only occupant of the goods of light, that shocked with a passenger car. This vehicle followed a man, of 48 year old, a woman 35 and an eight boy – all were seriously injured and were transported to the hospital in Beja.
All the victims are residents of the municipality of Ourique. The driver of the van was assisted on site, but succumbed to his injuries.
The helicopter INEM, Loulé, It was assigned to the accident, given the severity of injuries, but it did not have to.
The accident occurred at about 18 Hour Sunday, near the village of Haystacks, in Ourique county, at km 676 do IC1, next to the restaurant “The New Coimbra”. The van followed the south to north of that route, when the accident occurred.
GNR source indicated that the alternative is the highway 2 (A2), Castro Verde between access nodes and Almodovar, both ways.
They were mobilized to the site, according to the CDOS, 11 land vehicles and 29 operational, namely, Ourique of fire and Castro Verde, a helicopter of the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM), Immediate support one car Life (SIV), Castro Verde, and a medical vehicle emergency and resuscitation (VMER), Beja, besides GNR.
