Air Force: Squad hits 506 flight hours during medical transport.


A police 506 – Air Force ‘Rhinos’ surpassed 500 flight hours on Monday, day 29 April, during medical transport between the Azores Archipelago and mainland Portugal.

A police 506 – “Rhinos” reached the milestone of 506 hours of flight with the Cross of Christ on the wings!", wrote the entity, in a statement.

Since joining Air Force operations, a 19 October, the KC-390 “has already participated in some remarkable moments in the recent history of the Institution, such as transporting the two UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters”.

Besides, was part of “projection and sustainment missions of the Enhanced Air Policing detachment, in Lithuania”, provided support to the P-3 in Canada and Nodshldtz, in Germany, carried out the “retraction of the Squadron detachment 601 from the Gulf of Guinea”, and also carried out the “first air medical transport full of meaning when transporting a baby who was just four days old”.
